What is Bushcraft?
The
Bush-craft and Survival School is a one day introduction to survival techniques and skills in the outdoors.
We supply all equipment for the sessions and then give you information and advice on the equipment you will need to ensure you have a very comfortable wilderness bush craft experience on your own.
We often journey to a suitable spot by Canadian canoe, taking all that we need to the location with us.
We don't sell equipment but we do offer advice on where to buy the most reasonable priced and in most cases how to recycle and make your own kit cheaply or even better for FREE!
We introduce you to food that is tasty and enjoyable, you won't be eating bugs and leaves (unless you really want to!!) Survival isn't all about living off the land, it's also about being prepared, having the correct equipment and the right amount of food and water to last you for the duration of your stay in the outdoors and a little extra for the unexpected.
During our one day basic bush-craft course we aim to introduce you to the very basics of outdoor survival techniques looking at the following:
* Basic health and safety
* Basic Personal equipment
* Personal First Aid and Personal First Aid equipment
* Environmental impact, leaving no trace of your camp
* Fire lighting, wood collection and preparation
* Food preparation and Cooking
* Ropes, string and knot tying
* Basic Shelter and shelter building
If the bush craft survival school one day introductory program isn't enough for you we can put together a program tailored to suit you for example click here for

Family day of canoeing and bushcraft, Aug 2021 • Family
We had a fabulous day of canoeing and bushcraft with Dave from Adventure 21. Our daughters (aged 5, 6 and 9) absolutely loved it, as did the adults. The weather was patchy, but it didn’t cause any problems, as Dave had sturdy waterproofs for us, and we were cosy under our shelter once the fire we going. The setting was beautiful, the kids loved learning fire lighting techniques, and having a story read to them by Dave, and the campfire lunch of sausages and toasted marshmallows went down a treat. The whole day was relaxed, well-organised and brilliant fun, and Dave was wonderful company. Would definitely recommend!

Bushcraft for the boyfriend
I book a 9-4 bushcraft experience for my boyfriends birthday and it was a brilliant day out. It was just us two plus our guide Paul and we canoed down the lake to a perfect little pebbles spot we found. We were having fun trying to navigate around buoys and and being taught all the different strokes, while taking in all the lovely scenery, wildlife and farm animals along the way! We cooked sausages on a fire we built, carved and made our own pegs, put up our own tent, learnt how to tie different knots and left all without leaving a noticeable trace - very important! I would definitely recommend this day out to anyone. Luckily we only had one short downpour (as it was due to rain all day) which occurred just as we finished our sausage sandwiches - perfect timing, as we sat underneath our shelter perfecting our pegs and knots! The pictures taken and put on Facebook after the day out were also perfect.
Great location, great guide and great kit plus very easy to book with helpful staff.
Bushcraft skills
Had a fantastic day today with David Firth on the Bushcraft day. From start of the day to the end it was informative, relaxed and fun.
Day consists of canoeing out to a beach on Coniston, build a shelter with guidance during the process around ropes and knots. Building a fire from scratch, knife and axe skills, cook your lunch, more knife skills and plenty of fun. A perfect day for me and Archie my 13 year old.
Can highly recommend and will be returning over the summer to do some gorge scrambling.
