Culvert scrambling is a team orientated activity which promotes self confidence. The water culvert is basically a long purpose built tunnel to divert water from near by hill sides to drain into the natural water course. Your group has to work your way along the Tunnel keeping close together. On your first trip keep the torches on for a little encouragement then try it without torches; this is where the team work really comes in.
What does the activity include?
The activity includes all specialist equipment, instruction, and waterproof clothing.
Where does the experience take place?
We have venues throughout the north west of England.
What should I wear?
We supply a Waterproof Jacket. You will need to wear something warm and comfortable underneath.
How long should I allow for this experience?
Time is dependant on the group, some groups complete this activity quickly but for less confident group it can take longer. We will work this out with you the group leader and if we feel the need to, we can include another activity or team task into the session.
When does the activity take place?
We are available 7 days a week for culvert scrambling, all year round.
Are there any restrictions?
There are no real restrictions, for individuals with disabilities we will choose a venue to suit your needs and extra staffing can be made available on request.
What about the weather?
The weather would need to be really bad to stop our sessions; if it turns bad on the day we would try to have an alternative activity on hand.
Can I bring spectators?
Culvert scrambling is not a spectator sport as it takes place underground most of the time.
