Late in October 2007, Adventure 21 was contacted with regard to courses in knot tying for an article in the Telegraph weekend supplement.
We were more than happy to help out and met writer Chris Middleton and his son in Coniston to go over the basics of knots and their uses and to look at different types of ropes.
The article was included in the weekend country section of the Telegraph news paper on the 26th January 2008. So much interest was shown in the article that we are looking at putting on a day’s course to include knot tying in the morning along with raft building in the afternoon.
It’s a great way to learn a new skill or revive an old one, as well as testing your knots and lashings out for real building an improvised raft out of planks and barrels.
Suitable for adults and juniors.
