Sponsored Fund Raising abseil St Johns Church Whittle Le Woods 14th June 2008
To help raise funds towards the cost of pointing St Johns Church, over eighty parishioners and friends of the church took part in a sponsored abseil down the church clock tower.
The day was a huge success and had a carnival feel to it with families and friends turning out to support the abseilers.
During the morning BBC radio Lancashire arrived to interview the vicar of St Johns as he abseiled down the tower.
Not only will you get the chance to abseil down this fantastic church tower but also see the inside workings of the clock itself and the bell housing.
Over £5000.00 was raised during the day which will go along way to helping the church reach their target for the repairs.
