Coniston Sailing Club
Coniston Sailing Club is a family orientated sailing club, situated on the west bank of Coniston Water a short walk from Coniston village in the shadow of Coniston Old Man, a local mountain about 800 metres high.

Coniston Water is approximately 8.5 km long and 0.8 km wide at its widest point. It is subject to a speed limit of 10 MPH for motorised vessels.

Coniston Sailing Club has a varied calendar of organised sailing events from cruises, club racing, national class race meetings and national class championships for both dinghies and cruisers.

The club runs regular sail and race training sessions for its members both young and not so young.  At the moment, we have a group of youngsters developing their sailing ability in Topper's, Pico's etc.  The aim is to get the juniors competent enough to enjoy joining in with our club races.  For the past few years we have hosted a very popular section of the Junior Travellers Series - attracting 36 junior entries in 2006 and 38 this year in 2007.

The club has many organised social events to complement the sailing activities.  We have overnight stays on the lake with BBQ's, various parties/disco's in our club house on Saturday nights, annual dinner dance, Christmas dinner etc.

The membership year runs from January to December with organised sailing events occuring from March to November.
